The Harris Girls Invite You To

The ShoreHouse on Orr's Island

Welcome to the Shore House!

We (The Harris girls) hope that you will be comfortable and relaxed here. Please do not hesitate to let us know if there is anything we can do to make your stay more enjoyable.

The property has been in our family since 1965, when our father, Lester Harris, purchased it. Our grandfather, Alfred Harris used the wharf as his fishing headquarters for years. Upon our fathers passing we decided that the location was too good to give up, and so we chose to upgrade and allow others to experience the same incredible venue.

The building was originally built in the early 1900ís and used as a gift shop and ice cream parlor for the arriving passengers off the Steamship, which docked at the wharf next door (to the north). Steamship guests would arrive from Portland and stay at the Merritt House, just up the hill.

An extremely thorough remodel (everything from septic to foundation to roof and everything in between) was begun in 2004, and completed in 2006. The Shore house has been a labor of love. We hope you can feel that.

Any questions, special requests or needs that we might help you with, please call Melinda .
